We are excited to be launching our new Copper Dog Community Fund, our new 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to helping our community and in particular encouraging literacy and providing diverse and multicultural books to all ages. The Fund grew out of our high school scholarship program and our interest to do more in our community. For our first CDCF initiative, we’re focusing on getting books into kids’ hands for the summer.
Donations for our Blind Date with a book will go into the Copper Dog Community Fund. We are asking customers to add a dollar or two to their purchases to help buy books for the 300 students of the summer literacy camps. We will partnering with Beverly Bootstraps and holding a book drive in May for the 450 students working with Beverly Bootstraps to provide books for assigned summer reading.
