The first book in a sprawling, complex quartet. Full of rich, complicated characters that you’ll love to hate and hate to love. Warning: don’t buy the first book without ordering the next three. Trust me.
Simple and beautiful. No tricks or gimmicks, just well-crafted poetry about the beauty of the natural world. Best read on the beach, in the woods, on top of a mountain, or even in the clouds.
No, it's not my favorite Austen novel just because I share a name with the titular character (I swear!). It's my favorite Austen novel because Emma is a very intriguing Austen heroine. She is mischievous, a little self-centered (ok... she's very self-centered), and she feels things very deeply. But most important of all, she makes mistakes and learns to atone for them. You might dislike her at first, but by the end, I promise you'll love her as much as I do.
One of the books, if not the book that sparked my love of reading. Anne inspired me to be curious, daring, and sometimes a little ridiculous. She also really made me wish that I had red hair.
Adults are really ridiculous, don't you think?
